 EOD/DIVER HOCKEY GAME!

CHESAPEAKE, Va. (Aug. 29, 2009) Rear Adm. Walter Carter, left, captain of the USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70) hockey team, and Bob Pizzini a member of the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD)/Navy Diver hockey team, wait for an EOD robot to drop the puck to start a charity hockey game at the Chilled Ponds Ice Sports Complex. Together both teams raised more than $2,000 for the Wounded EOD Warrior Foundation and Whaler Nation Youth Hockey Programs. (U.S. Navy photo by Mass Communication Specialist 2nd Class Paul D. Needless to say, we had a great day at the ice rink. The CPO selectees did the heavy lifting and made this event a true success, especially in view of the short notice and last minute date changes. The win felt great. During the regular season we played each other twice, ending in a 1-1 tie, so this was the unofficial tie breaker. The below link is the CP official website, with a wrap of the game.
